It’s almost Mother’s Day! Don’t accidentally set off your own Civil War in the house by forgetting to get Mom a card. Make this Captain America: Civil War Mother’s Day card for the super-mom in your life.
What You Need
- Yellow cardstock
- White, red, and blue construction paper
- Card template (link below)
- 5/8″ star paper cutter (optional)
Begin by cutting the cardstock into a 4″ by 6″ card. Fold in half.
Next, print this Mother’s Day card template and cut out all of the sentences and the arc reactor.
Flip the bottom half of the paper over. Lightly draw a heart around the words “I’m #TeamMom” and cut it out.
Next, glue the arc reactor to the red construction paper. Cut it out, leaving a small strip of red around it.
Trace the arc reactor circle on the red construction paper and cut it out. Next, cut a circle out of the white construction paper that’s about half an inch smaller than the red circle. (Send the kids on a scavenger hunt for a circle-shaped template for a cleaner circle.)
Repeat with another red circle.
Cut a smaller circle out of the blue construction paper. (Again, you can trace something the size of a water bottle cap.)
Punch one star out of the white construction paper. If you don’t have a paper cutter, simply draw and cut out a small white star that fits inside the blue circle.
Assemble Captain America’s shield by gluing the pieces together.
Next, glue Iron Man’s arc reactor to the top left of the front of the card, and Cap’s shield on the bottom left.
Glue the two related sentences next to them.
Next, open the card. Glue the “Sorry, guys” sentence to the upper left of the inside of the card.
Glue the “I’m #TeamMom” heart to the red construction paper. Cut it out, leaving another half-inch border around the outside.
Finally, glue the heart in the inside of the card, lining up the center of the heart with the fold down the middle.
Let all glue dry, and your Mother’s Day card is complete. (Don’t forget to sign it!)
