Legend of Zelda Rupee Suncatchers

It’s a big year for The Legend of Zelda, now¬†celebrating its 30th anniversary! Like Link and Navi, you and your kids make a great team, so grab them¬†and make this Zelda rupee suncatcher together.

What You Need

  • Glitter craft foam with adhesive backing
  • Tissue paper
  • Wax paper
  • Rupee template (link below)
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Craft knife
  • Pencil

Get Started!

Begin by printing this rupee template and cut it out with the craft knife. (The template will be flimsy on printer paper, so use cardstock if available.)

Flip the glitter foam sheet to the non-glitter side and trace the template.

Use the scissors and craft knife to cut the rupee from the foam.

Now that the craft knife cutting is done, it’s time for the kids to take over!

Next, cut small squares of the tissue paper.

Place the rupee template beneath a sheet of wax paper.

Spread a thin layer of glue on the wax paper over the area of the rupee template. Place the squares in the glue until the rupee is completely covered.

Let dry.

Once the glue is dry, flip over the wax paper. Peel the adhesive backing from the craft foam.

Stick the rupee on to the wax paper.

Trim the wax paper around the rupee.

Your rupee suncatcher is complete! Make red, green, and blue rupees for a fun window decoration.
