Get your cape on and get crafting! DC Super Hero Girls is a fun online series for young superhero fans, and this simple DIY ornament is inspired by Wonder Woman’s shield seen in the opening theme song. Make your Christmas tree superpowered with this ornament crafted with paint, paper, and Mod Podge.
What You Need
- Flat, round cardboard ornament (found at Michael’s)
- Red and blue acrylic paint
- Wonder Woman logo (template below)
- 5/8″ star hole puncher
- Yellow cardstock
- Mod Podge
- Paint brushes
Begin by drawing one small circle in the middle of the ornament, and one large one near the edge. (Look around the house for a round shape you can trace for clean circles.) Repeat on the other side.
Next, paint the inside circle and outer circle (including the edge of the ornament) red.
Paint the circle in-between the two blue. Use this image of Wonder Woman and her shield for reference if needed.
Let the paint dry, and repeat the painting on the other side of the ornament.
While the paint is drying, print this Wonder Woman template logo. Cut the two logos from the page.
Use a 5/8″ star hole puncher to cut 12 stars from the yellow cardstock.
Next, use the Mod Podge to glue the Wonder Woman logo to the middle of the small red circle.
Then use the Mod Podge to glue six stars around the ornament, in the blue circle.
Next, spread a thin layer of Mod Podge over the ornament, completely covering the front and edge.
Allow the Mod Podge to dry.
Flip the ornament over and repeat on the other side.
Allow the Mod Podge to dry completely, and your Wonder Woman ornament is finished!
